Stop Smoking With Laser Acupuncture
The use of lasers to help people with tobacco addictions is gaining popularity because of its high success rates. Lasers stimulate the release of hormones called endorphins. These chemicals are created for an extended periods after treatment. Where quality of life, stress, fatigue, and perhaps malnutrition have resulted in decreased endorphin production, laser stimulation can increase the levels.
The Stop Smoking Program was created by a group of doctors including chiropractors, acupuncturists, and nutritionists.
Our practitioners partner with you to guide you through the physical, chemical and emotional changes that you will experience as you become a non smoker. On your first visit we take an extensive health history that includes your smoking habits. We then discuss nutritional and habit strategies that you will implement on a daily basis to help you avoid urges or triggers to smoke.
When you’re ready you will have your first 30 minute laser acupuncture treatment. Within 48 hours you will return for your second treatment. Even though you may feel you don’t need a second laser treatment, it is still an important part of the program.
Why You Feel the Way You Do When You're Quitting? Our bodies have a natural set point that is determined by our age, activity level, nutrition, and genetics. The medical term for this is homeostasis. We are very comfortable when we are at homeostasis. Life gets difficult when we try to make a change from this homeostasis even if it is for the betterment of our overall health. For example, if you were to regularly drink seven cups of coffee a day, reducing to one cup of coffee in one day would immediately upset your body. Quitting smoking is one of the greatest changes you can make for your health. Your body needs support during this time to find a new point of homeostasis. There are no wild swings in your body chemistry, and as a result, it is unlikely you will experience the unpleasant symptoms of withdrawal and the weight gain often associated with those who quit smoking using other methods*.
